Oral Examinations in Saskatoon
Ideally two times per year, you'll visit your dentist to give them the opportunity to identify any emerging oral health issues and develop a plan to treat them accordingly.
During this exam, your dentist will closely inspect the health of your teeth, jaw, bite and gums. Exams may also include an oral cancer screening, dental x-rays and any other diagnostic procedures that may be required.

Any part of your mouth or surrounding tissues can become infected with oral cancer. During your exam, your dentist will check your face, tongue, tissues, gums, throat, neck and lips for any signs of oral cancer which are difficult to detect with the naked eye.
Oral Health Care at Home
Keep your smile healthy between dental appointments by brushing your teeth twice daily for two minutes each time, and floss at least once per day.
Dental Hygiene Cleaning in Saskatoon
The deep cleaning is an essential part to your dental exam. Your dental hygienist will perform this task before or after your exam to prevent and treat disease.
To start, a scaler will be used to remove any plaque buildup and tartar. Next, a polisher will be topped with coarse toothpaste and any remaining plaque or leftover stains will be removed, followed by a thorough flossing of your teeth and gums.
