Dr. Bernie Olson

Dr. Olson has been practicing dentistry at Sutherland Dental Group for over 28 years. In fact, he started the practice right after graduating from the College of Dentistry at the University of Saskatchewan. Dr. Olson enjoys doing orthodontics and especially treating children and families. He is a member of the Canadian Dental Association.

Originally from Weyburn, Dr. Olson is married to Debbie, they have two daughters and a son. His hobbies include water skiing, snow boarding and playing hockey.


Dr. Carolynn Oleksyn

Dr. Oleksyn graduated with distinction from the University of Saskatchewan College of Dentistry in 1998 and has been practicing at Sutherland Dental Group ever since. She also holds a specialized degree in science from the University of Alberta and is a member of the Canadian Dental Association.

In addition to participating in many hours of continuing education each year, Dr. Oleksyn enjoys travelling and motorcycling with her husband Kelly. She enjoys hiking and long-distance trekking, and has completed treks to Machu Pichu Trail in Peru and Mount Everest Base Camp as part of The Arthritis Society Joints in Motion Training Team. She has also hiked extensively in Switzerland and Iceland.

Born and raised in Wakaw, Saskatchewan, Dr. Oleksyn also enjoys spending time with her family, and her nieces and nephews.


Dr. Tim Pierce

Dr. Pierce is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan and has been practicing dentistry since 1996.

In addition to providing dental services at Sutherland Dental Group, Dr. Pierce also practices in North Battleford. He is also a member of the Canadian Dental Association.

Dr. Pierce was born and raised in Saskatoon. He and his wife Tanya have two daughters. Dr. Pierce is very active and enjoys participating in triathlons, water skiing and playing hockey.


Dr. Divya Balakrishnan

Dr. Balakrishnan graduated from the University of Saskatchewan College of Dentistry in 2013. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Physiology from the University.

In addition to her family dentistry practice, Dr. Balakrishnan is a part-time faculty member at the College of Dentistry. She is a member of the Saskatoon Dental Society, the College of Dental Surgeons of Saskatchewan, and the Canadian Dental Association.

Raised in Nipawin, Saskatchewan, Dr. Balakrishnan plays in the Saskatoon Amateur Volleyball Association year-round and is a fair-weather golfer. She is also an avid reader, and studies and performs music, particularly piano. In her spare time, she can be found relaxing with family and friends.
